About Us

"They were continually devoting themselves to...prayer." ~ Acts 2:42

We are a group called to PRAY in downtown Chicago, EXPECTING God to change our businesses, our government, our institutions, our city, our LIVES. We have a heart to EMPOWER and ENCOURAGE other believers to bring transformational prayer into their own spheres of influence.

We have three weekly prayer meetings, with a vision to have them every day of the week in various places in downtown Chicago.

Latino Breakfast Club

The mission of the Latino Breakfast Club (LBC) is to be the bridge in, for and throughout the Latino business community and to SEEK, HONOR and GLORIFY God in and through our businesses.

The LBC is not a "Networking" organization or a Chamber of Commerce, but can be characterized as a "Hybrid" organization; A Professional Trade Association with a built in "ministry" to utilize Entrepreneurship as a vessel to share the Gospel.

As an organization, we are seeking to build companies, businesses and organizations of Significance, through the Utilization of the following Biblical Principles:

Integrity
Stewardship
Servant Leadership
Accountability
Diligence
Sowing & Reaping
Fellowship & Relationship Building
Righteousness
Mutual Trust & Respect
Respectful Communication & Dialogue
Being Peacemakers
We have a job to do, a work to be done and a Kingdom Assignment.

The LBC conducts monthly breakfast meetings the Second Saturday of the Month (except July & August) at 7:30 a.m. (Please view Events Calendar) and on a Quarterly Basis, the LBC conducts the Black-Latino Roundtable Breakfast Meeting.

Wednesday Noon Prayer call

The Wednesday Noon Prayer call was initiated in June of 2008 as a way to bring entrepreneurs and professionals together Mid-Day, Mid-Week to take a brief respite and focus on Scripture, Prayer & Fellowship.

The prayer call is modeled after the "Wednesday Noon Prayer Meeting" that Jeremiah Lanphier initiated in New York City over 150 years ago which led to the God-Inspired Fulton Street Market Revival.

"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agreee about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:19-20

Harvest Evangelism

A few weeks ago John and Amber attended the Harvest Evangemlism "Transform Our World" conference in Jacksonville, FL. It was a book by the head of this organization that led us to begin these prayer groups and to desire to connect with other groups. We recommend that you look at the website www.transformourworld.org.

While there we received an invitation to attend something called the Chicago Peace Campaign. We did not know anything about this but had received the invite from a trusted acquitance so we went. It was shocking to hear so many of the same ideas we had just heard in Jacksonville. Even more confirmation when we spoke to the Bishop of the church the meeting was being housed in, when he told us he some of the same people. God is moving to through the systems of this world. He desires to use us and that means our institutions. See below for more information.

The Chicago Peace Campaign is a mobilization strategy to fill the city of Chicago with "the way of peace" through life giving words and action, leading to a measurable decline in the rate of violence in the city, especially among our young people.

Peacemakers Projects: Organize, coordinate and support service projects that will become deterrents to violence and monuments of peace.

Friday Night Lights: Night time outreach in rough areas. Light up dark corners with physical lights while lighting up dark souls with the light of the Gospel.

Beautiful Feet: Recruit a corps of street pastors to go house to house with message of peace and be a presence for peace in the streets.

Peaceful Speech: Communicate the message of peace through new media (website, facebook, text message etc.), traditional media (radio, television, newspapers) signs and events.

Pray for Peace: Cover the Chicago Peace Campaign and the city of Chicago with prayer.

Thank you very much for your leadership and your committment to peace in Chicago!

Bless and do not curse...

That is our motto today. We will have normal meetings today and tomorrow.

Also, one simple step to owning your own business and home: "All things are yours." - 1 Corinthians 3.

Peace,

John
